All livestock producers should have current National Vendor Declaration forms (NVD's) that need to be filled out absolutely correctly and accompany all livestock movements. NVD's can only be ordered through Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA). You can either visit their website (see the link below) or contact them on 1800683111. All cattle and sheep being sold through the saleyards or to feedlots or butchers must be LPA (Livestock Production Assurance) accredited. To check that you are accredited please contact MLA for your LPA accreditation number - this number must appear on your NVD.
National Livestock Indentification System (NLIS) ear tags must be placed in all cattle that are sold. No ear tag - no sale!
